Lytle’s Cosmetology Courses

-8855We are extremely proud to be a Pivot Point member school. Internationally known and respected, Pivot Point brings together some of the most creative and forward thinking minds in the industry. The training our Instructional staff receives and the tools Pivot Point offers, such as their exclusive member schools only Designers’ Approach Library, ensure that you receive educational excellence. The methods are easily understood and learned and are the foundation upon which you will build your techniques. These exclusive methods are based on the philosophies of The Bauhaus, the most celebrated art school of modern times. Through these same philosophies, our students learn to be more than hair stylists — they learn to become hair designers, offering you a career where you enjoy both creativity and freedom.

What You Will Learn

The college operates Tuesday through Saturday. The 1600 hours of training, required by the state, take approximately 12-15 months. These hours are well designed by our Curriculum Director and educational staff, combining a comprehensive primary training program in a high-energy atmosphere, weekly theory classes and our unique, highly interactive Zones, in which students enjoy specialized training, and smaller classes.

Hands-On Experience

You’ll spend plenty of time in our busy Student Salon, where you’ll gain the hands-on experience that ensures confidence. Using a variety of professional products only, such as the Goldwell color line, Aquage, Enjoy, Redken, KMS products, OPI nail supplies, and seasonal styling products, our students gain the knowledge and skill needed for success. We’ll also train you to achieve superior customer service skills to help build and keep a busy clientele.

You’ll experience guest educators, have the opportunity to attend field trips to such destinations as MAC Cosmetics in San Francisco, ‘professionals only’ beauty supply houses, and trade shows where platform artists dazzle with innovative trends and the showroom floor sparkles with exciting and exceptional deals.

Our pass rates are consistently among the highest in the state — meaning our students are well prepared.

Externship Program

Our Extern Program allows you the valuable experience of working in a professional salon, under the guidance of successful stylists. Our college enjoys great rapport with many local salons and maintains a job list board with many exciting opportunities. Our advising sessions help you look at the many directions you can take, from stylist to platform artist to product consultant or even trendy runway work. Possibilities abound!

Our innovative programs, founded in years of experience, are designed to lead you to success. Come and see what we’re all about at one of our General Orientations, where we’ll take you on a tour, talk about the industry and answer your questions.
