Why We Give Back

At Lytle's Redwood Empire Beauty College, we appreciate how much our local communities support our college. That's why we strive to give something back to our communities and our customers.

Each year, hundreds of future designers, future skin care specialists, and all staff members from Lytle's Redwood Empire Beauty College donate their time, talent, and energy to support a variety of charitable causes. Typically, our community service calendar is scheduled a year in advance and most times we participate in the same event annually, although we are always open to new charitable events that find us.

The events listed below are in no way complete.

  • Lytle's donates thousands of dollars and numerous gift certificates every year to many local charities.
  • Project Graduation Sober Night – Student designers and educators provide free haircuts, hairstyles and make-up services for graduates county wide, annually.
  • Active 20/30 Club – Student designers provide free back-to-school haircuts for school age children, annually.
  • We provide hair care and makeup services for the poor and homeless and victims of domestic abuse.
  • Roustabout Theater Company – Student designers provide free hair and make-up services to a local children's theater company for various performances throughout the year.
  • Lawrence E. Jones Middle School Pledge-a-thon – Student designers and educators donate their time to help raise money for the school's programs.
  • Sonoma County Hair Harvest – Every year in October, our college teams up with a local radio station to host an all-day event for members of the community who would like to donate their hair for wigs for cancer patients. We also raise money for the American Cancer Society.
  • Canned Food Drive – Clients, staff, and students donate canned goods, which are then donated to a local food bank, annually.

At Lytle's Redwood Empire Beauty College we believe in bringing out the best in people, changing lives, and making a difference.

We do have a dress code, strict attendance requirements, high educational standards, and all the other elements of a successful beauty college, but we also provide safe, loving environments where people have overcome addictions, built self-esteem, left bad relationships, found mentors, and discovered an amazing and nurturing support system.

Our vision is to create happy, successful Future Professionals and graduates who also want to give back to their community.
