Open House

The Open House is designed to help you gain insightful information about this industry, as well as Lytle’s Redwood Empire Beauty College. The Open House is in a group environment and lasts about an hour.

  • A tour of the college is provided.
  • Open House meetings are available by appointment. Please call (707) 545-8490 to reserve a spot in one of the upcoming sessions.
  • Please be on time. We are sorry, but late attendees will not be admitted.

Once you've requested an information packet your next step is to schedule an Open House or set up an Admissions Appointment. 

The Open House is designed to help you gain insightful information about this industry, as well as Lytle’s Redwood Empire Beauty College. The Open House is in a group environment and lasts about an hour.

  • A tour of the college is also provided.
  • You will have the opportunity to schedule a one-on-one appointment with an Admissions Team Representative at the end of the open house.
  • Open House meetings are available by appointment. Please call (707) 545-8490 to reserve a spot in one of the upcoming sessions.

During your admissions appointment, your Admissions Rep will:

  • Meet with you and collect your Enrollment Application.
  • Take you on a tour if you have not already done so.
  • Review enrollment requirements.
  • Administer an entrance exam.
  • Review financing.

You may also fast-track your appointment by completing and bringing to your Admissions Appointment the applicable Enrollment Requirements listed below.

Enrollment Requirements

  1. Applicants must be at least eighteen years of age to enroll (you may start the enrollment process prior to turning eighteen).
  2. Applicants must be a citizen of the USA, or an eligible non-citizen and may be required to provide proof of citizenship status.
  3. Submit completed Enrollment Application.
  4. Applicants must have completed high school and provide their high school transcripts, or students must have completed the 10th grade and provide a General Education Development Certificate (GED). This college does not accept Ability to Benefit or on-line diplomas. If you have a diploma from another country, it must meet U.S. standards.
  5. Submit a 250-Word Essay reflecting your personal and professional history, as well as how this has influenced your decision to join the Cosmetology or Esthetics field.
  6. Have a professional reference complete the enclosed Letter of Recommendation form. 
  7. Pass the institution’s entrance exam, with a score of 75% or higher.
  8. Provide a $100.00 non-refundable enrollment deposit.

Financing

  • Complete the enclosed Direct Payment Form, or
  • If interested in grants or student loans, complete the on-line Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (www.fafsa.ed.gov). (You will need our school’s Federal School Code: 013807).

The College determines eligibility through the admissions process and the entrance exam. However, we are a privately owned college, and we reserve the right of limiting enrollment to those who show an aptitude for Cosmetology/Esthetics training.  We may reject anyone unable to benefit from, or adapt to the profession.

NOTE:  The Board of Barbering and Cosmetology also requires information regarding misdemeanors and felonies. If this applies to you it will be necessary to let an Admissions Representative know and provide a copy of the criminal record. An additional application may need to be completed for the Board of Barbering & Cosmetology. This question may determine your eligibility to take the state exam.

Pre-Enrollment Requires:

  • Attending an Admissions Appointment (by appointment only)
  • Attending a Class Orientation for your confirmed start date.

Should you choose to proceed with the enrollment process, we encourage you to do research on the industry by visiting salons. Make sure you are choosing the best environment for your education.
